Card Uses


Hokie Passport Account


The Hokie Passport Account is a debit account and allows students to access university vending, bookstores, dining centers, as well as numerous retail locations on and off campus. This debit account also allows users to print at Computer Labs. All Hokie Passport ID cards have an activated Hokie Passport Account. Deposits for the Hokie Passport Account are accepted in the Hokie Passport Office, 100 Student Services Building, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Cash and checks are accepted. You can also make deposits online under the "Personal Info" tab at MyVT. Deposits may also be made at the cash to card machines at these locations:
  - Hokie Grill in Owens Hall
  - Math Emporium
  - Squires Student Center, entrance near Henderson Lawn
  - Student Services Building, entrance near ATM

Hokie Passport funds carry from semester to semester until you graduate or are no longer affiliated with the university.

Dining Center Access & Dining Plans


   For students with a dining plan, your Hokie Passport ID gives you access to your meal plan in all dining centers operated by Student Programs. The cashier will swipe your card and the amount of your purchase will be deducted from your account, or a meal will be removed from your meal plan.

Dining Dollars


All Hokie Passport ID cards have an activated Dining Dollars account. Dining Dollars is an optional debit account which allows students to purchase food in the Student Programs Dining Centers. Deposits in the form of cash and checks are accepted for Dining Dollars at the Hokie Passport Office, 100 Student Services Building, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You may also make deposits online under the "Personal Info" tab at MyVT or at the cash to card machines located in West End Market. Map Dining Dollars carry from semester to semester until you graduate or are no longer affiliated with the university.

Bus Pass



McComas and War Memorial Gym Access


   Your card will be used to grant access to these facilities. Only students paying the recreational sports fee may use McComas Gym.

Library Privileges



Health Center Access


   If you use the services of Schiffert Health Center or Cook Counseling Center, you will need to show your Hokie Passport ID to verify that you are a student.

Parking Permit Verification



Athletic Event Privileges


   Students entering Lane Stadium/Worsham Field for football games or Cassell Coliseum for basketball games must present their ID before entering.

Lab Access


   Students who wish to print at one of the many computer labs on campus must have a Hokie Passport Account to pay for printing. Access to many labs is through a card reader accessed with your Hokie Passport ID card.

Residence Hall Access


   Entry into residence halls after hours is accessed by card readers. A resident must use his/her Hokie Passport ID to enter the building via a card reader.

Math Emporium


   Students will need to show their Hokie Passport ID to enter the Math Emporium.
